Hoffman Estates, IL – Clearwater Capital Partners is pleased to announce the addition of Randy Yu as Director of Institutional Advisory Services and Senior Strategic Human Capital Advisor. Randy brings more than 25 years of executive and senior leadership experience spanning human resources, retirement plans, operations, and communications, adding a distinctive employer-side perspective to Clearwater’s Institutional Advisory Services practice.
In his role, Randy will lead the strategic direction and development of Clearwater’s institutional advisory practice, which serves businesses, retirement plan sponsors, endowments, and charitable organizations. His experience as a senior HR leader gives him firsthand understanding of the responsibilities employers and plan committees face, from fiduciary oversight and retirement plan design to compensation, employee financial wellness, retention, and broader workforce priorities.
Having spent much of his career making these decisions from inside organizations, Randy brings a perspective that extends beyond the retirement plan itself. He helps business owners and senior leaders consider how retirement programs, compensation, executive benefits, and financial wellness work together as part of a broader strategy to attract, retain, and support their people. His experience also provides an important lens as organizations navigate key-person retention, leadership continuity, succession planning, and business transitions.
Participant education is another important focus of Randy’s work. Having overseen employer-sponsored retirement plans himself, he understands that a well-designed plan is only as meaningful as an employee’s ability to understand and use it. He is passionate about helping organizations improve financial readiness and giving employees the education and guidance needed to make informed decisions about their financial futures.

Randy’s earlier career included roles in manufacturing, product engineering, and business development, providing an operational foundation that continues to shape his approach to leadership and execution. His longstanding interest in financial wellness began while working as an engineer at Ford Motor Company, deepened through his MBA finance studies at the University of Michigan, and continued throughout his HR career as his responsibilities expanded to include employer-sponsored retirement plans.
